"Dexter" showrunner joins "Nurse Jackie"
NEW YORK (TheWrap.com) - Showtime has ordered a fifth season of "Nurse Jackie" with former "Dexter" showrunner Clyde Phillips taking over as its showrunner. Phillips worked on the first four seasons of "Dexter." "Nurse Jackie" stars Emmy winner Edie Falco as a brilliant but flawed emergency room nurse. Phillips will join Richie Jackson and Caryn Mandabach as executive producers on "Nurse Jackie." The fifth season of the show, a co-production of Showtime and Lionsgate, will begin production late this year. (read more...)

Emmys merge acting categories for movies and miniseries
NEW YORK (TheWrap.com) - The Emmys are combining the lead and supporting categories in the movies and miniseries categories. The consolidated categories (now titled Outstanding Actor in a Miniseries or Movie and Outstanding Actress in a Miniseries or Movie) will include six nominees each. The previously existing categories previously had five nominees. The combination will likely make it harder for those in supporting film and miniseries roles to win Emmys. (read more...)
