AFi First Look – Go Hero’s Doc Savage 1/6th Scale Figure

Go Hero might not be a household name in the toy world  like a ‘Hasbro’ or a ‘Mattel.’..yet!  But for anyone that has ever seen one of their incredible 1/6th scale figures, especially in person, you know that they put out a quality figure that can only be rivaled by expensive import 12″ figures.   They knocked fans out with their 12″ classic Buck Rogers figure, their fantastic 12″ Buster Crabbe Flash Gordon figure and their STUNNING “The Shadow” figure (Still available, but only a few left!)

Now they have many fans excited as their love of classic pulp bring us a long awaited figure – the ‘Man of Bronze” himself – Doc Savage!

We’ve had many years of Doc Savage reading material such as novels and comics, but the good doctor has been severly lacking in the merchandise department.  There have been a handful of statues from places like Electric Tiki and Real Art Studios, but if you were looking for action figures you have been out of luck.   Until now!  Now Steve Forde and the gang at Go Hero aren’t just giving us a generic 12″ figure with a torn up shirt.  No, they are bringing us their top level of detail, having teamed up with sculptor Gabriel Marquez to bring us a 12″ Clark Savage Jr. that looks like he stepped right out of a James Bama  cover!

A few weeks back Go Hero teased us with the following message on their official Facebook Page:

DOC SAVAGE NEWS: We have gotten some great feedback about the direction you all think we should go with Doc Savage. We have the opportunity to make something special that is comparable to the best 1:6 scale out there, with die-cast metal parts, multiple guns, accessories and more. It will cost more to make and to purchase, but it is right for the project to make a historical piece of figure art than to just bang out a project. NEXT WEEK we will be showing some more WIP parts, including a list of accessories, MSRP, and Introductory Pre-Order price.

Now Steve and Go Hero have given AFi readers an exclusive first look at the head sculpt, the gun and the work in progress of this awesome figure:

Thank you to Steve and Go Hero for letting us give you this sneak peek at the Man of Bronze.  We will keep you updated on the latest news from Go Hero and this figure.
