Alice Cooper Covered Lady Gaga’s ‘Born This Way,’ And It’s Bizarre And Great At The Same Time (VIDEO)

Alice Cooper covered Lady Gaga's "Born This Way," and it was really weird and really cool.

Clearly, Lady Gaga is a tough chick to impress. She was less than thrilled with Madonna's mash-up of "Born This Way" and "Express Yourself" (possibly because she didn't want anyone to remember they sound VERY MUCH THE SAME.) But one "Born This Way" cover she was totally into? Alice Cooper's hardcore, head-banging, rocker-dude version.

This past weekend, Cooper took the stage at Bonnaroo in Tennessee, where he not only performed his own hits but also a totally random version of the Lady's "Born This Way." It was a vastly different interpretation of the song that felt more like "Living On A Prayer," but WHO CARES? It's ALICE COOPER, and he can do what he wants. And that's precisely what he did when he changed Lady Gaga's original lyrics adding: "You may be crass, you may be dumb/ but hell with that, are you having fun? ... They hung me high/ But that's the price of fame and fear and fortune too/ I'm standing here at Bonnaroo!" In fact, Mother Monster was so into Alice's cover that she even took time off from resting her concussion to email the band to express her approval. A personal email from Lady Gaga? That's DEFINITELY a seal of approval. Rock on.
