AU Shippin’ Out September 4-7: Battlefield 3: Armored Kill, The Sims 3 Supernatural

Virtual life simulation or war simulation? The choice is yours!

The theme of games hitting Australian shores this week is expansion packs, with the Battlefield 3: Armored Kill DLC seeing release for PSN Premium users on September 4.

Armored Kill is Battlefield 3's third of five planned expansions. It follows Back to Karkand and Close Quarters, and precedes Aftermath and Endgame, which are slated to arrive later this year. Armored Kill brings four new maps, including what EA says is the biggest map in Battlefield history.

Additionally, Armored Kill adds new vehicles and a Tank Superiority game mode. This tank-themed King of the Hill mode has players battling for a central capture point. According to the publisher, Battlefield 3 has sold 10 million copies to customers as of February 2012.

On the other end of the gaming spectrum, The Sims 3 proves it has not quite exhausted its pool of expansion titles with the release of The Sims 3 Supernatural. The seventh expansion pack in The Sims 3 series, the game will allow players to create witches, werewolves, zombies, vampires and fairies. In addition to new traits and objects, the pack also introduces a new world.

The Sims 3 Supernatural will go on sale across Australia and New Zealand on September 6 for the PC.

Other titles worth looking out for this week include Endless Space, Mark of the Ninja and Madagascar 3: The Video Game.
