Avatar Sequel Will Start Production Again Soon, New Plot Details Revealed

Movie production is currently on hold across Hollywood, and it's unclear when most films will start shooting again. However, there's one big movie that is about to restart production thousands of miles away from the US. It's James Cameron's Avatar sequel, which is shooting in New Zealand. Avatar producer Jon Landau has stated that he will be returning to New Zealand very soon and has also spoken about the movie's plot.

Landau revealed the news via a post on Instagram. He also spoke to New Zealand website RNZ about the decision to go back, and revealed that a smaller crew "who are essential to our filming needs" will be returning to resume production on the movie. Check the post out below:

In the interview, Landau praised the way the New Zealand government had handled the COVID-19 crisis, and stated that the filmmakers had a plan to resume work safely. "We feel very comfortable because of the actions of your government and also the responsibility the people took to really curb the virus there," he said. "So we feel we're coming back to the safest place in the world possible thanks to a team of people that we've worked with. We believe we have a very thoughtful, detailed and diligent safety plan that will keep everybody as safe as possible in these unprecedented times."
