Jay Z + Justin Timberlake’s ‘Holy Grail’ Video Takes A Turn For The Howard Hughes (NSFW)

Jay Z and Justin Timberlake return in the hauntingly powerful video for "Holy Grail."

With relatively little fanfare (considering who we're talking about), Jay Z has just released the music video for "Holy Grail" featuring his Legends Of Summer Stadium Tour-mate and Michael Jackson Video Vanguard Award-winner, Justin Timberlake.

Set in a mansion at once lavish and dilapidated, the clip is a haunting look at the paranoid destruction that often accompanies massive fame and accumulated wealth.

The video's directed by Anthony Mandler who, according to his Wikipedia page, is set to work on an upcoming Britney Spears video called "Tbh" -- we assume they mean "TBA," TBD," or maybe even "All Eyes On Me"?? This has nothing to do with Jay's new vid, but we just had to share. #SorryNotSorry

Taking a turn for the Howard Hughes, "Holy Grail"'s visuals serve to highlight the irrevocable changes that power can wreak: Jay watches Mohammed Ali get knocked out while frantically rapping about up-and-coming challengers to his throne, he paces back and forth in a "Freak On A Leash"-esque bullet hole-filled ballroom while worrying about his family's protection, etc.

Like the video for "Applause" by Lady Gaga (another Marina Abramovic collaborator), this highly stylized video brings us back to the documentary "Grey Gardens," but for extremely different, far darker reasons.

Anyway, we can't wait to see what this collaborative super duo drops on us next. (Like Timberlake's upcoming Jay Z-featured 20/20 Experience -- Part 2 Of 2 track called "Murder.") Till then, you know where to find us -- in a broken chandelier-filled, dust-covered ballroom in the east wing of our country estate. Duh.
