Lingerie Football League game in works

WWE 13 developer Yuke's hopes to capitalize on "gaming world…s target market" with sports license.

The Lingerie Football League is getting a video game, and Yuke's, the developer of scantily clad wrestling game Rumble Roses, is making it.

The Japanese company announced last week that it acquired the rights to the league, which itself premiered in 2009. The LFL uses American football rules modified for a 50-yard field, as well as lingerie-inspired uniforms. It currently has 12 teams with plans for expansion, according to the LFL website.

"We at Yuke's feel that there is incredible momentum building behind the LFL and that the sport is perfectly positioned to become the next big franchise in the gaming world," said Yuke's CEO Yukinori Taniguchi in an LFL news release. The release states the core global fan base of the league is nearly 60 percent men aged 18-34, which "perfectly aligns with the gaming world's target market."

Yuke's is known for developing the WWE series of games, as well as UFC Undisputed and Rumble Roses. No publisher has been announced for the game.
