Robin Thicke, Backstreet Boys Release Albums; Ne-Yo Performs On ‘Good Morning America’ This Friday

Welcome to Buzzworthy's "The Week In Pop," where we round up new album releases, talk show musical guests, TV performances by your favorite pop stars, and more (so you don't have to).

This week, Robin Thicke releases his sixth studio album, the sizzling Blurred Lines. Catch him guest cohosting "The View" on Friday morning, and later that night on "Late Night With Jimmy Fallon." Also, Backstreet Boys (who stopped by Buzzworthy for a round of "20 Questions" earlier this year) mark their 20th anniversary with the release of In A World Like This; the guys are on Tuesday's "Jimmy Kimmel Live" and Wednesday's "Late Late Show With Craig Ferguson." Rounding out the week, Emblem3 make their debut with Nothing To Lose (they hit "The View" today), and Night Riots (formerly known as PK) release their EP Young Lore. Meanwhile in TV land, Ne-Yo kicks off the weekend in smooth, smooth style during Friday's "Good Morning America."

Robin Thicke releases his new album "Blurred Lines" on Tuesday, July 30.

NEW ALBUM RELEASES

+ Robin ThickeBlurred Lines: Robin Thicke already had one of the songs of the summer with the funked-up jam "Blurred Lines" featuring T.I. and Pharrell Williams. With the release of his sixth studio album, he may just keep the clubs all steamy during the upcoming winter months and beyond. The dance floor come-ons come by way of "Take It Easy On Me" and "Go Stupid 4 U," and the disco slickness of "Get In My Way" -- not to mention the seamlessly blended retro grooves and sexy falsettos on "Ooo La La" -- is definitely worth checking out. And while most of the songs' themes are of the flirtation variety, Robin also gets sweetly, sincerely romantic on "The Good Life" and "Feel Good."

+ Backstreet BoysIn A World Like This: The guys celebrate their 20th band-iversary by releasing an album filled with harmony-laden anthems. Love and relationships remain central to the new material like "In A World Like This," with the tune's video declaring the group's support for marriage equality by featuring a ceremony between two men. Also, listen to the ballad "Breathe," which was inspired by the movie "Drive," and the super sweet "Show 'Em (What You're Made Of)," where the guys give props to their kids. Of course, some relationships don't end on the sunny side, in the yearning-filled "One Phone Call" explores the regret of love lost.

Check out more new album releases, upcoming TV appearances, and performances after the jump.

Emblem3Nothing To Lose: For Emblem3's debut album, Nothing To Lose, the second-season "X Factor" alums recruited some big names to cowrite with, including fun.'s Jack Antonoff, Good Charlotte's Benji and Joel Madden, and Swedish pop mastermind Max Martin. A fusion of pop, hip-hop, and ska flavors Emblem3's material. Watch the video for "Chloe (You're The One I Want)" and their "Cribs" tour bus diary video, and be sure to check out their interview with MTV News about the video. Also give the catchy "I Love LA" a listen, if you can handle the beach and ocean-view envy it'll inspire.

+ Night RiotsYoung Lore: Formerly known as PK, California's Night Riots have re-emerged with a new name and a new EP called Young Lore. Watch the vignette video for the dark, synth-tipped "Spiders," and check out the quintet's live performances of "London" and "Mask" from the 2013 O Music Awards.
