ROVIO ENTERTAINMENT EXPANDS ITS CONSUMER PRODUCTS INITIATIVES

Rovio Entertainment emphasizes long-term brand development and bolsters its licensing partner base.

PLas Vegas, Nevada — June 17, 2013– Rovio Entertainment, the creator of the globally successful Angry Birds brand, announced at the International Licensing Expo in Las Vegas, Nevada plans to grow their licensing business. Rovio Entertainment is partnering with great companies and has expanded its licensing team dedicated to its consumer products business.

In addition to announcing the expanded strategic licensing agreement with Hasbro Inc. earlier on Monday 17 June, Rovio Entertainment has entered into partnerships with other key players in the licensing business. These new partners will compliment Rovio’s existing partner base of over 500 companies.

The new key licensees include: Power A will develop a full line of mobile and video game accessories, Thermos will develop a line of hydration and storage containers, Pez will be selling collectible candy dispensers, Natrol will be creating multivitamins for kids and families and Gemmy Industries will add Angry Birds-themed Airblown inflatables and Halloween costumes to their 2013 product lineup. Additionally, returning partners will include Amscan and Fifth Sun, Rovio’s premiere apparel partner, and Accessory Innovations to name a few.

With the tremendous popularity of Angry Birds, Rovio has created a long-term growth strategy for its consumer products business and its iconic brands, including Angry Birds, Bad Piggies, Angry Birds Star Wars and the upcoming Angry Birds Go! In addition, Rovio is planning to focus on female consumers with Stella, the pink bird in 2014.
