Taylor Swift honors her 2013 MTV VMA nominations with some elegant shade!
If you thought you were, like, BEYOND excited about the 2013 MTV Video Music Award nominations, just think about how the nominees themselves must be feeling! (Because it's not about you. It's about famous people.) Take, for instance, Taylor Swift's reaction to finding out that she's nominated for two 2013 VMAs -- "Video Of The Year" and "Best Female Video" for "I Knew You Were Trouble." The surprised star took to Twitter to express her excitement and said, "Two VMA nominations!! If you vote and get us one, I promise to keep a firmer grip on the mic this time  ."
The "Everything Has Changed" singer was obviously referring to the now-infamous "Kanye West debacle of 2009," i.e. when the rapper crashed her acceptance speech. We're totally LOL-ing at Tay's joke, but we really gotta praise her ability to, as we like to say, "throw elegant shade" (which is something she's a PRO at). If we were Taylor, we probably would have tweeted something a little bolder -- maybe like, "IF I WIN, NO ONE COME ON STAGE WHEN I'M ACCEPTING UNLESS YOU ARE BOWING DOWN TO ME #SorryNotSorry." But alas, Taylor is just too darn nice to do anything even remotely like that... But that's why she's what you'd call "a bigger person." (Literally! Girl is TALL!)
