It’s always fascinating for me to watch something go from idea, to concept to fully realized product.  It’s kind of like discovering a cool band before they get popular.  The Tiny Ghost vinyl figure is sort of like that for me.

Back in October of 2015 my friend Reis O’Brien, the man behind Bimtoy.com and a designer for Funko by day, was looking for a fun project to keep his creative juices flowing as well as help him celebrate Halloween, his favorite holiday.  He came up with his ‪#‎dailyghostdoodle‬ art project where each day of the month of October he would do a little doodle of a difference ghost, using his “Tiny Ghost” idea as the form to start from.

He also did a handful more ghosts for the Christmas holiday that year.   His friends all really enjoyed the project and looked forward to each new installment, which lead him to self publish a book of the Ghost Doodles.

From there he made some vinyl stickers of the Tiny Ghost design as well as some enamel pins and that ultimately lead to doing a vinyl art toy of the Tiny Ghost in late 2016.   Reis was kind enough to send us a Tiny Ghost figure to AFi HQ and we love it!   While it has a place of prominence in our Halloween displays we love it so much it is out on display 365 days a year!  The simple, elegant design is so much fun in 3 dimensions and the packaging is great too.   I always get a lot of compliments on this piece from anyone who sees it.
