Video Premiere: Taylor Swift, ‘I Knew You Were Trouble.’

Taylor Swift reflects on a destructive relationship in her "I Knew You Were Trouble." video.

It feels like we've been waiting for this day, Taylor Swift's video release day, with the same level of excitement generally reserved for Christmas, Hanukkah, and our birthdays -- oh, wait, it's TAYLOR'S birthday! OK, how did she manage that?! Not only has Taylor released the video for her third Red single, "I Knew You Were Trouble.," but it's also her 23rd video ever AND her 23rd birthday. TAYLOR SWIFT TRIFECTA.

Perhaps you've noticed, but we've been mega pumped for this new video all week -- we've seen behind-the-scenes photos AND a video sneak peek, but now the moment has finally arrived -- we'll finally know what happens with Taylor's punky on-screen BF (Reeve Carney from Broadway's "Spider-Man: Turn Off The Dark"), why her hair is dip-dyed pink, and why she's taking the Avril Lavigne fashion route instead of her usual quirky vintage-inspired attire.

Watch Taylor Swift's "I Knew You Were Trouble" video after the jump!

Revealing the new clip in an exclusive "MTV First" interview, Taylor Swift's "I Knew You Were Trouble." video sees Taylor waking up (coming to?) in an apocalyptic desert scene (probably that traveling circuit party rave everyone's going to lately) after presumably being abandoned by her bad boy du jour (Reeve Carney). (Um, does that remind anybody else of the time Justin Bobby, another bad boy, ditched Audrina Patridge in Las Vegas on "The Hills"?! Never mind.)

While all of Taylor's clips tend to carry strong, well-articulated themes, this one is particularly epic -- "I Knew You Were Trouble." is more like a short film than a traditional music video. Bookended by her diary entries narration, a brittle-haired Taylor ponders why it's so easy to lose yourself in another human being, especially when that human being is hot, charming, and totally bad 4 U. As the song plays out, Taylor is seen spending passionate time with her dangerous man, running across train tracks, making out on fire escapes, dancing in the clurb, getting into bar fights -- you know, the usual. Everything looks like it's going pretty well until Taylor spies her bad boy making out with another girl in the club! WHAT! Another Justin Bobby move! Don't worry, Taylor. We've allll been there. Gotta jump across the railroad tracks with a bunch of hot bad boys before you'll finally want the (hopefully just as hot) good guy.
