Wii U ‘probably’ arriving in November – Toki Tori 2 dev

Dutch shop Two Tribes projects Nintendo's upcoming high-definition console to launch during same month as Wii in 2006.

The Wii U will "probably" [sic] be on store shelves this November, Toki Tori 2 developer Two Tribes told GameSpot on Twitter recently. The Dutch developer did not say if this was a North American or international release projection.

Nintendo has not announced a specific release date for the Wii U, but the company said in January the console would arrive worldwide this holiday season. Last week, a listing on Amazon Germany indicated the Wii U would be on shelves on December 21.

If the Wii U does arrive in November, it will do so during the same month as the Wii did more than a half-decade ago. That system hit North America in November of 2006 and saw release in Europe a month later.

Two Tribes is currently at work on Toki Tori 2 for the Wii U. It is a sequel to 2008's WiiWare adaptation of the 2001 Game Boy Color platformer Toki Tori. A puzzle platformer, the game is also due out for the PC and Mac with a level editor.
