Ewok companion comes to Star Wars: The Old Republic

Will be available once the 2.3 patch is released on the main servers.

Star Wars: The Old Republic will be adding an Ewok companion in the 2.3 patch, MMO site Dulfy (via Rock Paper Shotgun) reports.

The Ewok companion--called Treek--can be unlocked for the price of 1 million credits once a character is at Legacy level 40, reports Dulfy.

Treek uses heavy armour, and aim is her primary stat. She features both heal and tank stances.

Once the 2.3 patch is released on the main Star Wars: The Old Republic servers, players will be able to purchase Treek from a droid merchant in the Cartel Bazaar.

Dulfy also released a video of Treek explaining her backstory, which contains spoilers:

In May, EA said that its revenue from the Star Wars MMO had doubled since it went free-to-play.

Xbox 360 offers Defense Grid as next free download for Gold subscribers

Halo 3 and Assassin's Creed II will be offered for free in the coming months.

Microsoft has announced that Defense Grid: The Awakening will be the next free title released as part of its freshly unveiled Games With Gold promotion.

Defense Grid: The Awakening will be available to Xbox Live Gold members for free from July 1 through July 15. Hidden Path Entertainment's tower Defense game was originally released on Xbox Live Arcade in September 2009, and is normally sold for 800 Microsoft points.

GameSpot awarded Defense Grid a rating of 8.0 in its review, saying that "this exceptionally balanced tower defense game will keep you coming back to fight off the alien invasion for just one more wave."

A new title will replace Defense Grid on July 16 for two weeks, with the Games With Gold campaign offering up a new game every two weeks.

Microsoft announced the Games With Gold promotion during its E3 2013 press conference, with the Xbox owner looking to set up a rival to Sony's similar PlayStation Plus service. Assassin's Creed II and Halo 3 will be coming to the service over the next few months.

Sony's PlayStation Plus service is currently offering the following games in Europe: Uncharted 3, XCOM: Enemy Unknown, Little Big Planet Karting, Kingdoms of Amalur: Reckoning, ICO and Shadow of the Colossus Classics HD, Demon's Souls, Catherine, Malicious, Lord of the Rings: War in the North, and The Cave.

Nintendo denied Wii U domain in cybersquatting case

The World Intellectual Property Organisation has ruled in favour of current domain holder; website first registered in 2004.

Nintendo has lost a claim with the World Intellectual Property Organisation (WIPO), following an attempt to take ownership of the WiiU.com domain name, according to a report by Fusible.

The case, which was filed by Nintendo of America in February this year, sought to turn over the privately held WiiU.com domain, which was originally registered in 2004; seven years before the announcement of the company's current game system in April 2011.

The verdict, which was handed down over the weekend, found in favour of the original website holder. While no information was provided on Nintendo“s options or intentions to appeal the decision, the company may yet elect to attempt to purchase the domain from its current owner in a private sale.

In May this year, Microsoft began proceedings with the National Arbitration Forum to claim ownership of the XboxOne.com and XboxOne.net domains, following the announcement of its upcoming next-generation home console. The two domains were originally registered in December 2011 and are currently held by a London resident.
