Free Dragon Age Browser Game Fills in the Gap Between Dragon Age 2 and Inquisition

Developer Failbetter Games has announced Dragon Age: The Last Court, a text-driven browser game that fills the gap between Dragon Age II and Dragon Age: Inquisition.

"In Dragon Age: The Last Court, you are the ruler of Serault: an eccentric fiefdom at the farthest ends of Orlais," Failbetter said on its website. "As the Huntress or the Scholar you’ll guide your realm through the most crucial period in its history. Will its ancient Shame be forgiven? Or will Serault fall into obscurity?"

In the game, you'll manage the affairs of your court, choosing a counsellor, bodyguard, and other important roles. You'll also make choices that will impact your subjects, prioritizing different threats as you meet new events and characters, some of which you might recognize from previous Dragon Age games.

The game will be available as part of Dragon Age Keep, a free web app (available on PC and consoles), which allows players to create a customized Dragon Age historical world state that carries over choices made in Dragon Age: Origins and Dragon Age II.

Failbetter Games gave some of its fans early access to the game, which you can see in the video above uploaded by YouTube user AbilityDrain.

Failbetter Games, which released Sunless Sea earlier this year, announced that it was working on a secret project with Bioware in February. Now we finally now that it was The Last Court.

Watch: Far Cry 4’s Multiplayer Doesn’t Look Like a Simple Afterthought

Ubisoft has released a new trailer for Far Cry 4 that shows off the game's Battles of Kyrat multiplayer mode.

Back in May, Ubisoft CEO Yves Guillemot said that Far Cry 4 will have "a lot more multiplayer" than Far Cry 3, and the latest trailer does indeed make it look more involved than what we've seen in previous Far Cry games.

According to the PlayStation Blog, The Battles of Kyrat multiplayer mode is set up as a re-telling of a war that took between The Rakshasa, Pagan Min’s elite guard, and the Golden Path rebellion. The Rakshasa have supernatural abilities that allow them to summon animals into battle, arrows that unleash swarms of bees, and "blink arrows" that teleport them to wherever the arrow lands. The Golden Path, meanwhile, has access to automatic weapons, vehicles, and explosive equipment.

Battles of Kyrat has three different modes. In Outpost, the Golden Path defends outposts against the Rakshasa. In Propaganda, the Golden Path has to bomb three propaganda installations while the Rakshasa defend. And in Demon Mask both sides fight over a mythical mask they have to bring back to their home base.

Ubisoft says that multiplayer matches are five-on-five, take about 20 minutes to play on average, and take place across 10 maps at launch. However, Ubisoft confirmed that the game will get a map editor, which we'll hear more about soon.

Far Cry 4 has gone gold last week. It will release on Xbox 360, Xbox One, PlayStation 3, PlayStation 4, and PC on November 18. For more, check out GameSpot's previous coverage.
