D23 Expo 2022: The Best Costumes, Props, And Star Wars Droids On Display In The Disney 100 Exhibit

While the most exciting aspects about Disney's D23 Expo are all the the announcements that are made, new footage that is shown, and surprising revelations about the movies and TV shows we can't wait for, there's so much more to the event. There's an entire convention floor stuffed with stores, activations, exhibits, and so much more. One of the most impressive if Step in Time, a 100th anniversary celebration from the Walt Disney Archives.

Step in Time is a walk-through exhibit that showcases a number of costumes, props, and memorabilia from Disney's 100 years, including old park tickets, drawings, and so many iconic items direct from the sets of several of Disney's highest profile films.

We were lucky enough to tour Step in Time and snap photos of the best costumes and props on display--including some really cool items from the original Tron film. Take a look at what was shown below. Then, if you're craving D23 news, check our our breakdowns of everything we learned about upcoming Marvel Studios, Lucasfilm, and Disney Studios projects.

Mary Poppins

It doesn't get more iconic than this, the dress Julie Andrews wore when she played Marry Poppins in the 1964 film.

Haunted Mansion

While the majority of the props and costumes shown off were from Disney films, the parks did have some very good representation--including these props from the attic of the Haunted Mansion attraction at Walt Disney World.

More Haunted Mansion

As you can see, there is quite a bit of "stuff" from the attic of the mansion that Disney has been collecting over the years.

The Bride

The last look at Haunted Mansion artifacts is this bride from the attic, which was formerly used on the ride.

Sark's helmet from Tron

This is the helmet worn by David Warner in the original Tron film, in which he played Sark. It's amazing that this is still in such good condition after so many years.

Clu's helmet and an Identity Disc from Tron

Two more pieces on display in the Tron portion of the exhibit is the helmet worn by Clu, played by Jeff Bridges in the film, and an Identity Disc, one of the most iconic props from the film.

Dick Tracy costume

This is the actual hat and trench coat worn by Warren Beatty in the movie Dick Tracy.

"Big Boy" Caprice's suit

Tracy's nemesis, "Big Boy," wore this sharp red jacket. Those that have seen the film will recall Al Pacino's portrayal of "Big Boy" Caprice.

Two of Big Boy's henchmen

The Dick Tracy section also included two more suits from the film, assumedly worn by "Big Boy's" colorful henchmen.

Breathless Mahoney costume

This black dress was worn by none other than Madonna, who played Breathless Mahoney in the film.

The Millennium Falcon

These pieces of the Falcon are from Star Wars: The Force Awakens. It was with the launch of that movie that Disney began archiving props and costumes from the franchise.

BB-8

This iconic droid was first introduced in The Force Awakens.

R2-D2

Another droid on display was a screen-used R2-D2.

C-3PO

Take a good look at this C-3PO costume. It does not look comfortable at all, especially given that so much of these movies is shot in the desert.

D-O

This little wheel droid was first seen on the big screen in Star Wars: The Rise of Skywalker.
