It has signed NBC's "Parks and Recreation" and Fox's "Brooklyn-Nine-Nine" executive producer to a multi-year deal through 2016. "Mike is a wildly talented writer and, hands-down, one of the best showrunners in the business," said Universal TV executive vice president Bela Bajaria in a statement. "He is funny, collaborative, smart, solution-oriented and incredibly creative. The "Austin Powers: International Man of Mystery" star has been tapped to star in the E! pilot "The Royals," an individual with knowledge of the casting told TheWrap on Wednesday. "The Royals," which is executive produced and written by "One Tree Hill" alum Mark Schwahn, is contemporary drama about a fictional royal family. Billed as "part fairy tale, part cautionary tale," the pilot is "steeped in all of the regal opulence of the British monarchy and framed by Shakespeare's Hamlet. ...
