It's Tuesday! Time for another round of "5 Must-Hear Pop Songs of the Week"!

Today is a truly monumental day for the United States of America: It's election day 2012! Have you voted yet? Before you decide on the fate of the nation, consider these election-themed tracks by some of our favorite pop stars to help lead the way.

1.) Lana Del Rey, "National Anthem"

When Lana Del Rey isn't cruising down the coast going 'bout 99 with her bad boy by her heavenly side, she's busy inspiring a nation. "National Anthem" is one of the most supremely gorgeous cuts from her debut Born To Die -- and it's also quite topical! Full of vintage Americana references ("red, white, blue is in the sky") and decadent delights ("Take me to the Hamptons/ Bugatti Veyron"), the indie chanteuse transports us back in time to her majestic version of the American Dream. You see, Lana understands the importance of voting in order to make all her dreams a reality. And if you're nervous about today's results, just count on her endless optimism to lead the way: "We will do very well/ I can tell, I can tell," she promises. In Lana We Trust.

2.) Britney Spears, "Do Somethin'"

One of the many reasons Miss Britney Spears remains a living legend is no doubt due to her undying dedication to standing up for equal rights. "Do Somethin'," the searing cut from her 2004 career retrospective, Greatest Hits: My Prerogative, finds Britney on a mission to promote social activism and fight injustice: "Get up out of your seat/ Why don't you do somethin'?," Queen B demands throughout. If you aren't already halfway out the door on your way to the polling center by the time this song is over, you're simply not worthy of the Holy Spear-it's blessed teachings.

3) Madonna, "American Life"

Madonna's never really been one to keep her opinions to herself, especially when it comes to politics. Back in 2003, the Queen of Pop led the charge with the politically-fueled American Life, full of stinging indictments of Hollywood and Bush-era society. It wasn't a popular record at the time, but it's every bit as relevant now as it was then: "I'm just living out the American dream/ And I just realized that nothing is what it seems," Madonna concludes in the explosive title track. Now it's years later, and she's still courting controversy on the "MDNA Tour," painting the word "Obama" on her back and delivering impassioned political rants about the importance of freedom of speech. Say what you want about Madge, but she's always going to exercise her right to free speech -- and that's exactly why we love her.

4.) Depeche Mode, "Policy of Truth"

What would a proper Election Day post be without some whistle-blowing? Leave it to the brooding boys of Depeche Mode to get the job done by holding feet to the fire: "Never again is what you swore/ the time before," frontman Dave Gahan declares on "Policy of Truth," one of the darkened synth-pop gems from the band's 1990 masterpiece, Violator. In politics, it's all about accountability and owning up to the facts, and the guys seem to know a thing or two about keeping 'em honest: "It's too late to change events/ It's time to face the consequence." Remember: Do your research before you hit the polls!

5.) Lindsay Lohan, "I Decide"

If anyone knows anything about navigating the turbulent seas of politics and social injustice, it's our faithful "Mean Girls" queen, Lindsay Lohan. For her empowering addition to the Princess Diaries 2: Royal Engagement soundtrack, which was penned by legendary songwriter Diane Warren, Lady LiLo stands up for herself and boldly declares to the world: "I decide how I live/ I decide who I love/ Choice is mine/ And no one gets to make my mind up." It's the essential anthem for any kind of informed decision-making -- like VOTING. Now get out there and VOTE, already. Your LiLo needs you!
