AFi First Look – Mattel’s 66 Batman line and Batmobile #66Batman

Tonight at Meltdown Comics in Los Angeles there was an event to celebrate the licensing of the 1966 Batman TV series.   There were celebrities on the “black carpet”, props from the series, a bat-cave, Adam West and some Mattel reveals!

At the event we saw the Cesar Romero Joker figure for the first time, we got our first look at the Batmobile for the Movie Masters line AND we saw what the SDCC 2013 comic con exclusive for 66 Batman will be!  We also got to see some of the villain Mez-itz from Mezco’s 66 Batman line.

The comic con exclusive batusi Batman will have an action feature where you push a button on his back and Batman will DO the Batusi!  Also the package will have a sound chip that will play the song and a few lines of dialog.

We learned that the single carded 66 Batman figures will come with stands with “Pow”, “Biff”, “Ooooff” and such.   There will be a trading card backdrop that fits into the stands.   On the backside of the cards will be an interconnecting image of the 66 Batcave, if you collect all 6 of the single carded figures.

With the Batman and Robin 2-pack the window/wall can sit flat OR hang on a wall.   The windows WILL open (for guest stars to pop out of), and the bat ropes will have a wire inside so that they stay firm for the climbing pose.

All that AND there was an announcement of a 1966 Batman comic book coming soon from DC Comics!

Below is a handful of pictures from the event, but check out the full gallery from the event here on our gallery page.

We’ll have video and an interview from the event soon.
