Amazon lists Xbox One controller for $60

[UPDATE] Retailer reveals price point for next-generation Xbox controllers will be same as PlayStation 4's DualShock 4; Microsoft says, "We have not announced pricing..."

[UPDATE] Following the publication of this story, a Microsoft representative issued a statement on the matter to GameSpot.

"Many times we see retailers post speculative prices on products before they're announced," reads a line from the statement. "We have not announced pricing for the Xbox One controller, but look forward to sharing more details in the comings months."

The original story follows below.

Xbox One controllers will cost $60 to purchase separately, according to a new listing from Amazon.

It is unclear if this pricing is an estimation from Amazon or the official price point. A Microsoft representative was not immediately available to comment.

DualShock 4 controllers for the PlayStation 4 will also retail for $60.

The Xbox One controller is similar in form to the existing pad for the Xbox 360, though Microsoft has said it features more than 40 updates over its predecessor. One of the most touted updates is the Xbox One's new developer-customized rumble feedback trigger buttons.

The Xbox One ($500) and PS4 ($400) will launch this holiday. The Xbox One includes a Kinect 2.0, while gamers will need to pay $60 for a PlayStation Eye camera.

Neither Microsoft nor Sony has yet to announce what Xbox One and PS4 games will sell for.
