Are We Getting a 4″ 1966 Batman from Mattel?

This week, over on BigbadToyStore.com, a new pre-order listing popped up, without any accompanying image, of a “DC Comics Multiverse 4″ Figure – Batman ’66 (Arkham Origins).”    To many fans this sounded like there will be a 4″ 1966 Adam West TV DC Multiverse Batman figure to stand along side our 4″ Michael Keaton 1989 Movie Batman.

But is that really what it means?

Around this time last year, Warner Brothers Interactive announced several of the “skins packs” that would be available as downloadable content for the Batman: Arkham Origins prequel video game and 1966 Batman was among those skins:

There was no 1966 Batman figure shown with the rest of the 4″ DC Multiverse figures at Mattel’s booth at SDCC… unless they are calling this Batman repaint a “1966 Batman?”

The costume is kind of similar, but the colors are not really correct for that.   This is more like a 1970’s Batman.

So are we getting a proper 1966 Adam West figure?  Or will it be the Arkham video game Batman dressed in a 1966 skin?  Or will it just be the repaint above?

We don’t have that answer yet, but we are trying to track it down.

We will update this story as we get more information.
