AU Shippin… Out April 29-May 3: Far Cry 3: Blood Dragon

Take a blast from the past in the retro-inspired first-person shooter Far Cry 3: Blood Dragon.

Sci-fi spinoff title Far Cry 3: Blood Dragon hits Xbox 360, PlayStation 3, and PC this week.

Gamers are able to explore a single open-world island in Blood Dragon, which is set in a dystopian future. Many of Far Cry 3's gameplay systems and mechanics will be making a return, such as hunting, gathering numerous collectibles, and liberating outposts. Developer Ubisoft has said that the first-person shooter contains around eight hours of original content.

The original Far Cry 3 is not required in order to play Blood Dragon. The game will be out on Xbox Live and PlayStation Network alongside its PC retail release.

NetherRealm Studios' Mortal Kombat has been refused classification, twice, in Australia, but the game will finally become legally available in the country this week. The R18+ rated Mortal Kombat: Komplete Edition will go on sale from May 2 for the 360 and PS3. The Komplete Edition version includes all previously released downloadable content: Playable characters Scarlet, Kenshii, Rain, and Freddy Krueger.

An adult R18+ rating for video games was introduced in Australia at the start of this year, under which the game was submitted for classification by Warner Bros.
