If you've been following the comings and goings surrounding "Marvel's The Avengers," one of this year's most highly-anticipated films, you've probably noticed in watching the action-packed trailers that everyone onscreen either initiates or suffers from a few decent beatings.

It's not surprising, considering the film revolves around a group of superheroes fighting a supervillain and an unidentified alien race, but when MTV News hit up the star-studded premiere in Hollywood Wednesday (April 11), we were curious to find out who suffered the most onscreen violence.

"Probably me!" lamented Chris Evans, a.k.a. Captain America. "Probably me. I don't know, I think we all play our roles," he added with a mischievous wiggle of his eyebrows.

"We all took a pretty big beating," admitted Scarlett Johansson, who plays the very adept assassin Black Widow. "I would have to say either [Black] Widow or Hawkeye (played by Jeremy Renner). We're on the ground so we're fighting hand-to-hand and it hurts."

"I think it's me, actually," said Chris Hemsworth, whose demigod Thor sees plenty of action in the film. "When I saw the trailer I thought, 'I get knocked around the whole time!' "

Clark Gregg, however, insisted the film's bad guys get the worst of it, saying it's the aliens who suffer the most physical abuse. "[And] anybody who crosses the Hulk basically," he added.

Speaking of the villains, Tom Hiddleston, who plays Loki, the evil god of mischief, made a case for his own suffering.

"Me," he said with certainty. "Someone's got to do it."
