Battlefield 4 stats will carry over to next-gen

DICE confirms Xbox 360 and PlayStation 3 player statistics will carry over to Xbox One and PlayStation 4 versions of the military shooter.

DICE today announced that Battlefield 4 player statistics will carry over from Xbox 360 to Xbox One and PlayStation 3 to PlayStation 4.

"We got your back," DICE said in a statement.

The announcement comes on the same day that Activision revealed that Call of Duty: Ghosts player statistics, as well as downloadable content, will be transferable between console generations.

DICE also announced today that it will offer a Battlefield Premium subscription for Battlefield 4. With a membership, players will receive digital expansion packs, as well as weekly content and personalization options. The Battlefield 4 Premium subscription will also be transferable between console generations.

No price was specified for a Battlefield 4 Premium membership, though the Battlefield 3 Premium subscription is available for $50.

DICE owner Electronic Arts will give a first look at Battlefield 4 Premium content during the company's Gamescom briefing on August 20 beginning at 10 a.m. EDT. This presentation will also highlight Need for Speed Rivals, Plants vs. Zombies: Garden Warfare, FIFA 14, EA Sports UFC, Command & Conquer, and The Sims 4.

Battlefield 4 launches for Xbox 360, PlayStation 3, and PC on October 29. The Xbox One and PS4 versions do not have release dates yet.
