Baywatch Star In Talks To Join The Matrix 4

International supermodel, Quantico alum, and villain of the 2017 Baywatch movie, Priyanka Chopra Jonas, is in final negotiations to join the cast of The Matrix 4, Variety has reported, making her the most recent in a long list of actors who have opted to free their minds and learn the truth of the world's horrifying computer-simulated reality.

Chopra Jonas will be stepping into the mind-bending simulated reality alongside Matrix franchise favorites Keanu Reeves, Carrie-Anne Moss and Jada Pinkett Smith as well as newcomers Yahya Abdul-Mateen II, Neil Patrick Harris, and Jessica Henwick.

Unfortunately, details about Chopra Jonas' potential character are being kept secret for the time being. But, with pre-production and fight training underway, we can assume that details will begin to solidify in the near future.

Franchise co-creator Lana Wachowski will be returning to direct Matrix 4 as her first solo movie credit without her sister, Lilly. Unfortunately, though both Moss and Reeves are set to return, we recently learned that another iconic Matrix character, Agent Smith, played by Hugo Weaving, will not be making a comeback.

The Matrix series was a pop culture phenomenon. The first film in the franchise, 1999's The Matrix, raked in $465 million worldwide. The 2003 follow-up, Matrix Reloaded, was the top grosser of the series, taking in $741 million, and the third film in the series, Matrix Revolution, made $427 million, worldwide. In total, the Matrix phenomenon made over $1.6 billion globally.

The Matrix 4 is set for release on May 21, 2021--a date that may look familiar to you if you're a Keanu Reeves die-hard. It's also the scheduled release date for John Wick: Chapter 4.
