Bill Murray Returns To New Ghostbusters To Help The New Generation

Ghostbusters: Afterlife revived the original Ivan Reitman film continuity with Egon Spengler's (the late Harold Ramis) grandchildren taking over the proton packs and becoming the next generation of 'busters--with some adult supervision by Mr. Grooberson (Paul Rudd).

While Jason Reitman directed Afterlife, he's handing the reins to Gil Kenan (who wrote Afterlife and the upcoming sequel Frozen Empire with Reitman) and now begins the new chapter in Ghostbusters stories.

Talking with Empire Magazine, Kenan talked about bringing the new Ghostbusters into a post-Gozerian world, and confirmed that Dan Akroyd, Ernie Hudson, and Bill Murray will return once again as Ray Stantz, Winston Zeddmore, and Peter Venkman. Empire also posted an exclusive behind-the-scenes photo of Murray and Rudd together.
