BlazBlue creators hosting 25th-anniversary event in Japan

Arc System Works Festival to take place on May 19; Arc Revolution Cup tournament to feature finalists for latest BlazBlue and Guilty Gear titles.

Arc System Works, the company behind the BlazBlue and Guilty Gear series, will be celebrating its 25-year anniversary by hosting an event called the Arc System Works Festival (ArcFes for short).

The ArcFes will be held at the Pacifico Yokohama National Convention Centre in Yokohama, Japan, and will be held on May 19. The festival will feature the national finals of the Arc Revolution Cup tournament.

The games featured in the tournament include BlazBlue: Chrono Phantasma, Persona 4: Arena, and Guilty Gear XX Accent Core Plus R. The final qualifiers bout for the tournament will be on May 18 and will be held at the Tokyo Leisure Land Akihabara arcade.

Apart from that, the ArcFes will also have a Guilty GearXBlazBlue Music live concert featuring the game's music played onstage, and a live Web radio show featuring 11 of the Japanese voice actors from both the Guilty Gear and BlazBlue games. The event will also be revealing new information about the company's upcoming games and updates to existing titles.

BlazBlue: Chrono Phantasma is slated to be out for the PS3 this October in Japan. A North American release date has yet to be confirmed.
