Kanye West breaks media silence over "Hottest MCs In The Game VIII" position.

Kanye West hasn't been doing interviews lately, but he recently broke his silence to discuss MTV's "Hottest MCs In The Game VIII" (where he currently sits at No. 7). "To me, I feel like in order for them to put me as No. 7, they had to bring up things that they didn't like," he told New York's Hot 97. Taylor Swift took on her critics in Vanity Fair's April 2013 cover story. "For a female to write about her feelings, and then be portrayed as some clingy, insane, desperate girlfriend in need of making you marry her and have kids with her... that's taking it and turning it and twisting it into something that is frankly a little sexist." she said. #cosign (MTV News)

Carly Rae Jepsen canceled her appearance at Boy Scouts of America's National Scout Jamboree due to their ban on gay Scouts and leaders. "I always have and will continue to support the LGBT community on a global level and stay informed on the ever-changing landscape in the ongoing battle for gay rights in this country and across the globe," she said. Last week, Train also pulled out on the same grounds. (MTV News)

+ Watch Mindless Behavior gush about how awesome Rihanna is before they cover a bit of "Pour It Up." They cutely change the lyrics to "snapback and dollar bills" versus "strip clubs and dollar bills." (Rap-Up)
