Buzz Bites (4/20/12): Adele, Rihanna, Lady Gaga And More Finalists For Billboard Music Awards

Adele leads the finalists' pack, appearing in 18 categories, for 2012's Billboard Music Awards.

+ Adele, Rihanna, Lady Gaga, Lil Wayne and LMFAO lead the pack as finalists for 2012's Billboard Music Awards, which will be broadcast live on May 20. Adele is the top dog, earning the most finalist categories, with 18. (Billboard)

+ LMFAO performed on last night's "American Idol" results show. Watch their performance of "Sorry for Party Rocking" and check out Season 8 winner Kris Allen perform his new single, "The Vision of Love." (Neon Limelight)

+ Tomorrow is Record Store Day, also known as awesome release day to music collectors. The Flaming Lips drop a double LP that includes collabs with  Ke$ha, Bon Iver and Nick Cave. There's also a new St. Vincent single, and Feist and Mastodon cover each other on a 7-inch split, among other collectibles. (NPR)

+ Paramore has been recording their fourth album. It apparently has not been smooth sailing. "For something to be great, there has to be some kind of trial or some type of struggle that actually makes it special or valuable to you. Otherwise, anything could be easily taken for granted," singer Hayley Williams wrote on their website. (MTV News)

+ Red Hot Chili Peppers will release a six-song covers album, Salute, on May 1. The set includes their rendition of songs by The Beach Boys, Ramones, Iggy and the Stooges, Neil Young, David Bowie and Dion and the Belmonts. (Billboard)

+ Demi Lovato earned a Gold Record in Brazil for Unbroken, passing the 20,000 mark in the country. (Just Jared Jr.)

+ The Band's Levon Helm succumbed to his decade-long battle with cancer. He died yesterday at the age of 71. (MTV News)
