+ Watch Miley Cyrus and her fire-swallowing, graffiti-tagging Smilers take over a Brooklyn subway tunnel in the new promo video for the 2013 MTV Video Music Awards. In the clip, a busker strums the VMA-nominated "We Can't Stop" on his guitar, when suddenly Miley and her posse explode onto the scene as the Beastie Boys' "No Sleep Till Brooklyn" blasts behind them. + Uh-oh: Chris Brown quietly turned himself into jail yesterday in connection with his hit-and-run case from last May. Brown reportedly arrived at the Van Nuys jail in Los Angeles at 2:40 p.m., was booked 2 minutes later and then released at 3:22 p.m. with no bail. Which means he was only in jail for 45 minutes. OK...? (MTV News)

+ Symbolism abounds in Katy Perry's teaser videos for her upcoming single, "Roar," due out Aug. 12. Last time, we saw her burning her blue "California Gurls" wig, and now she watches (with a wicked smirk) as a candy-coated dress atop a white casket is buried at a funeral. Whatever the lead Prism single turns out to be, it definitely won't sound like the Katy we're used to! (MTV News)

+ HAIM have finally given their long-awaited debut album a title (Days Are Gone) and a release date (Sept. 30). Check out the sisterly trio's full album track listing, and listen to a new cut of their live-show staple "Let Me Go." (Idolator)

+ Emeli Sandé has announced a string of new U.S. tour dates, which kick off in Las Vegas on Aug. 9 and wrap on Oct. 26 in Chicago. The "Next To Me" singer will also begin selling her Live At Royal Albert Hall album exclusively through Target starting Aug. 27. (Idolator)

+ D'Angelo has been hospitalized due to an undisclosed "medical emergency," according to the Chicago Tribune, forcing him to cancel several of his upcoming tour dates. This follows the "Untitled (How Does It Feel)" singer canceling shows in New York and Maryland just last week. (Pitchfork)
