Buzz Bites (9/7/12): One Direction, Rihanna, And Drake Win Big At 2012 MTV VMAs

One Direction accept the "Best Pop Video" Moonman from Katy Perry. 

+ The 2012 VMAs boasted big stars and big performances. One Direction nabbed Moonmen for "Best Pop Video," "Best New Artist," and "Most Share-Worthy Video" for "What Makes You Beautiful," and Chris Brown and M.I.A. each took home two awards. Rihanna nabbed "Video of the Year" for "We Found Love," and Drake toppled some stiff competition for "Best Hip-Hop Video" with "HYFR" featuring Lil Wayne. Check out the complete winners' list. + There were also several amazing performances at the 2012 MTV VMAs. Check out Alicia Keys' "Girl On Fire" performance with Nicki Minaj and Olympic gymnast Gabby Douglas, Pink melding "Get The Party Started" with "Blow Me (One Last Kiss)," Frank Ocean's stirring "Thinkin Bout You," and Green Day's rousing "Let Yourself Go." + Some VMA surprise announcements came during the pre-show. Miley Cyrus revealed that her nuptials are taking a backseat to another important matter: new music. "[First] this record -- the biggest record I've ever had -- then I'll do wedding planning," she said. #priorities (MTV News)

+ Also, baby bumps are a cool thing to reveal at the VMAs (right, Beyoncé?). Wiz Khalifa and his fiancée, Amber Rose, who showed off her lovely baby bump, confirmed they are expecting their first child. (MTV News)

+ Listen to a new song from the forthcoming G.O.O.D. Music compilation Cruel Summer. Kanye West, Jay-Z, and Big Sean team up for the NSFW "Clique." (Pitchfork)

+ Adam Lambert has announced his new single. It will be the title track from Trespassing. He also unveiled a contest. "A contest for all you fans! Send me videos of u performing 'Trespassing.' Lip-synch, sing, dance and dress up! Prizes to be announced," he tweeted. (Idolator)
