The official Call of Duty Instagram account today posted a short video for something called Extinction for Call of Duty: Ghosts. "Survive the Extinction," reads the video description.

The video shows the Call of Duty: Ghosts logo morphing into an alien-like form.

New screenshots posted on Imgur today suggest Extinction is the name of an all-new and alien-focused Call of Duty: Ghosts gameplay mode.

The Extinction game mode will reportedly task players will killing aliens and destroying their hives. Some images show objectives that challenge players to kill aliens with pistols or survive without taking any damage.

No further details on the Extinction mode for Call of Duty: Ghosts are available.

Call of Duty: Ghosts launches on November 5 for Xbox 360, PlayStation 3, PC, and Wii U. Xbox One and PlayStation 4 versions will be released as launch titles later in the month.
