Carrie Underwood Covers Coldplay’s ‘Fix You’ On VH1 ‘Unplugged,’ And We’re Still Crying (VIDEO)

Carrie Underwood dipped Coldplay's "Fix You" in the sweetest country honey on VH1 "Unplugged."

Carrie Underwood is the latest artist to get the VH1 "Unplugged" treatment, and we're basically like WHAT TOOK THEM SO LONG? (No offense, VH1! We truly and contractually love you.) Anyway, guess what? Carrie totally destroyed it. And guess what, again?! She covered Coldplay's haunting "Fix You," and it was basically the most beautiful thing we've heard all year. Also news flash: Countrified Coldplay songs totally work, in case anyone had their doubts.

In addition to her smash "Before He Cheats" and other Carrie Classics, Carrie decided to go wild and throw a cover into her "Unplugged" set. Carrie attributed her decision to cover the bawl-fest to her recent trip to London as well as her experience seeing Coldplay live in concert. And sure -- we know what you're thinking! You were pretty done with hearing "Fix You" after you heard it in "Glee," "Grey's Anatomy," "The Newsroom" and about 1,000 other TV shows. But trust: You've never heard the song with the "Blown Away" singer's honey-dipped country twang all over it, and you've never heard it performed with such poise and control. Carrie stuck mainly to the original melody, and like Chris Martin's, Carrie's vocals were simultaneously smooth yet exacting, while still evoking some mad emotion. ALSO! DO NOT LISTEN TO THIS WITHOUT NINE BOXES ON HAND! Consider this your friendly warning.
