To celebrate the first opportunity for fans to buy the 7-inch and 2.75-inch collectibles based on the classic Street Fighter® video game franchise, Yoshinori Ono—the renowned producer of several games in the series—will be signing and giving away figures at Cryptozoic’s booth (#115) on Friday, July 21 from 11:45 a.m. to 1:45 p.m.

“We are excited that the fans at Comic-Con will be the first ones to get their hands on Street Fighter Knockouts and Lil Knockouts and are very honored that the great Yoshinori Ono will be joining us,” said Jeff Parker, Creative Director of Merchandise at Cryptozoic. “We think Street Fighter fans—and you can count all of us at Cryptozoic among them—are going to love these new lines of figures. We worked closely with our friends at Capcom to make sure the designs remained true to the legendary video games.”

Street Fighter Knockouts are 7-inch vinyl figures that feature the powerful women from the video game series. Packaged in display-worthy window boxes, Series 1 includes Chun-Li, Cammy, and Sakura. The figures were designed by Pedro Astudillo and sculpted by Anders Ehrenborg.

Yoshinori Ono is one of Japan’s most popular video game producers. With over two decades of experience at Capcom, he has worked on a variety of legendary franchises, including Onimusha™, Monster Hunter™, and Street Fighter. After starting off his career as a Sound Designer on Super Street Fighter II® for the PC, he worked his way up the company to the role of Producer, when his title, Street Fighter® IV, became a big hit and brought a whole new audience to the series. With Street Fighter® V having launched and going strong, Ono continues to be a revered figure for fans and aspiring game creators alike.

Capcom’s Street Fighter video game franchise launched in arcades in 1987 and immediately made its mark, as players took on the challenge of battling through an international martial arts tournament. The second game in the series, 1991’s Street Fighter® II, became a worldwide phenomenon, with gameplay and design elements that revolutionized the fighting game genre. Chief among these was the ability of players to choose from a diverse group of characters, each with a unique fighting style and a different country of origin. The numerous updates and sequels in the series have continued to be hugely popular, including the most recent release, 2016’s Street Fighter® V.

Street Fighter Knockouts and Street Fighter Lil Knockouts premiere at San Diego Comic-Con for suggested retail prices of $29.99 and $9.99, respectively. Both lines of vinyl figures will be available at retailers nationwide after the event.
