@Cryptozoic Announces Epic Spell Wars Will Be Part of Unrivaled Tournament Series

Hit Game Joins Series of Tabletop Tournaments Featuring $250k in Prizes that Launches in Stores April 2017 and Concludes with Finals in Las Vegas

Lake Forest, CA – March 3, 2017 – Cryptozoic Entertainment, leading creator of board games, trading cards, and collectibles, today announced that its hit game Epic Spell Wars of the Battle Wizards: Rumble at Castle Tentakill will be part of the upcoming Unrivaled Tournament Series, powered by Oomba, Inc. Featuring six different groundbreaking tabletop games, Unrivaled launches with Satellite tournaments from April to June at local game stores all across the United States. Winners move on to Regional tournaments to be conducted in July, with champions winning a paid trip to compete in the Grand Finals that will be held this October in Las Vegas. The prizes provided by Unrivaled for players at the Grand Finals will total $250,000. Fans of Epic Spell Wars can sign up for the Unrivaled Tournament Series right now by visiting any participating local game store.

“The Unrivaled Tournament Series is changing the way people participate in tabletop games and bringing organized play to the forefront,” said Darren Holt, Executive Producer of Unrivaled. “Unrivaled utilizes Oomba Tournament Software to help tournament organizers and players efficiently run, maintain, manage, and participate in games. Our goal is to set a new standard for tabletop tournaments everywhere.”

Epic Spell Wars of the Battle Wizards: Rumble at Castle Tentakill is the sequel to the original Epic Spell Wars, which was featured on Geek & Sundry’s prestigious web series TableTop, hosted by Wil Wheaton. Featuring game design and art from the original creative team of Cory Jones, Rob Heinsoo, and Nick Edwards, the rules are accessible to all, but there are layers of deep strategic gameplay that reward experience and skill. The game is entertaining for players and spectators alike, with over 100 original humorous illustrations and a comical spell-combining mechanic that invites players to explore different winning combos. The second game in the series adds Creatures that can become pets, Blood that can make spells even more powerful, and Reactions that allow spells to resolve even if a player’s character dies prematurely.

Store owners interested in the Unrivaled Tournament Series, featuring Epic Spell Wars and other popular tabletop games, can register on Unrivaled.com now to become officially sanctioned for a one-time fee of $250. Each store will receive a kit that includes all six games involved in the tournament series, tournament rules, and various extras, such as shirts and a dice tray. Players can sign up by visiting a local sanctioned game store, which can be found using the “Search for Your Store” feature on Unrivaled.com.
