DC’s Batwoman Season 2 Will Feature A New Lead Character – Report

Ruby Rose surprised superhero fans when she announced she was leaving her lead role in The CW's DC show Batwoman after just one season. It has now been reported that she won't be replaced as Kate Kane and that there will be an entirely new main character in Season 2.

According to Entertainment Weekly, Batwoman producers are currently casting for the new Batwoman alias, a character named Ryan Wilder. The site states that a casting notice was posted on Reddit, calling for LGBTQ actors to audition for the role. The notice describes Ryan Wilder as "likable, messy, a little goofy, and untamed."

The document also provides some background to the character: "With no one in her life to keep her on track, Ryan spent years as a drug-runner, dodging the GCPD and masking her pain with bad habits. Today, reformed and sober, Ryan lives in a van with her plant. Ryan is the most dangerous type of fighter: highly skilled and wildly disciplined. An out lesbian. Athletic. Raw. Passionate. Fallible."
