DreamHack Announces $250,000 Fortnite Competitions at Winter and Anaheim Festivals

$500,000 Prize Pool to be Split Between the Two Events

STOCKHOLM — DreamHack, the premier gaming lifestyle festival, has announced the two largest community tournaments to ever take place at a DreamHack festival — entitled, “DreamHack Winter featuring Fortnite” and “DreamHack Anaheim featuring Fortnite.” Both tournaments will have a whopping $250,000 prize pool up for grabs, with guaranteed participation for anyone with a BYOC ticket.

The two community tournaments will be historical as the DreamHack Winter edition will be the biggest Fortnite tournament ever to be held in the Nordics.  DreamHack Anaheim’s tournament will claim the spot as the largest community/BYOC tournament ever held at a DreamHack U.S. festival.

“We are extremely happy to be able to bring this huge tournament to our festivals. It really gives the core of the DreamHack festivals, the visitors, a chance to play for the big money,” said DreamHack Co-CEO Marcus Lindmark. “With the support of Epic Games, we’re now writing DreamHack history by setting up the biggest community tournaments to date, which couldn’t be more perfect as we celebrate 25 years of DreamHack.”

DreamHack Winter 2019 takes place from November 29-December 1, 2019. An additional day of the LAN/BYOC has been added and will begin one day in advance on November 28, offering 80 hours of BYOC activity — the longest DreamHack LAN ever. DreamHack Winter featuring Fortnite will begin on Friday, November 29, and will be available for all BYOC ticket holders who want to participate.

As DreamHack Winter closes out 2019, the first-ever DreamHack festival on the U.S. west coast will launch 2020 with DreamHack Anaheim, February 21-23, 2020. This will give U.S. visitors the opportunity to participate in the same massive Community tournament as in Sweden — DreamHack Anaheim featuring Fortnite — with the possibility to win both fame and a hefty prize pool, live, at the Anaheim Convention Center.

No pre-qualifiers will be held for the event, so those interested are encouraged to purchase BYOC tickets to DreamHack Winter or DreamHack Anaheim today to be guaranteed a spot in these massive Fortnite tournaments. Additional ways to participate in the tournament will be presented at dreamhack.com/fortnite soon.

The tournament will be played using the games solo mode. Additional information regarding tournament structure and signups will be released at a later date. This is a tournament for festival visitors only and will not be broadcasted.
