EA Will Shut Down Online Servers For These 12 Games By The End Of The Year

As it does periodically, Electronic Arts is shutting down the online servers for a number of older, less-played titles by the end of the year. As spotted by PureXbox, EA is shutting down online servers for at least 12 games in the coming months, including Battlefield Bad Company 2, Dead Space 2, Crysis 3, and Tiger Woods PGA Tour 14, among others.

Crysis 3, Dante's Inferno, Dead Space 2, and Battlefield 1943, among others, are available through Xbox backwards compatibility, so anyone enjoying those games on a newer Xbox don't have much longer to make use of their online elements.

EA says the decision to "retire" older games is never easy, but these decisions are necessary so EA can dedicate time and resources to newer, more actively played titles.
