Eminem’s ‘Berzerk’: We Break Down The References… In GIFs!

Eminem name-checks everyone from Kid Rock to Khloe Kardashian in his new song, "Berzerk."

When Eminem announced that his next album would be the sequel to 2000's The Marshall Mathers LP -- the sophomore album that proved the bleached-blond MC's chops as the hottest rapper in the game -- we knew we'd hear him breathing fire.

"Berzerk" (with a Z!) takes Prince's Purple Rain advice and goes crazy, crackling with a "99 Problems"-esque beat courtesy of guru producer Rick Rubin, who's been bringing electric guitars and hip-hop together since Fred Durst was in diapers. It helps that Em sounds like the Beastie Boys on steroids, all aggro and vein-popping.

As is Eminem tradition, "Berzerk" name-drops celebs like a stack of Us Weeklys: Kevin Federline gets a shout-out, for some reason...

...and he takes a shot at poor Khloe Kardashian, WHO IS HAVING A HARD TIME RIGHT NOW, OK? "All I know is I fell asleep and woke up in that Monte Carlo/ with the ugly Kardashian/ Lamar, oh sorry yo."

He even throws in a nod to fellow Detroit artist Kid Rock, whose rap-rock collision Devil Without A Cause brought new attention to Motor City hip-hop a year before Em's Slim Shady LP dropped.

But Em's also willing to dig a little deeper (no offense, Kid Rock): "Just like I did with addiction, I'm 'bout to kick it," he rhymes, a reference to his public battle with -- and triumph over -- prescription pills. It's been three years since his Recovery, and now he's ready for business. Welcome back, dude.
