Epic Games Reveals “Zen Garden” App Powered by Unreal Engine 4

Today Epic Games revealed the Zen Garden application, powered by Unreal Engine 4. The app demonstrates dynamic environments and is a result of Metal, the new API that Apple announced at the Worldwide Developers Conference (WWDC) today.

According to the announcement, Metal has been designed to "dramatically improve the CPU efficiency of rendering on iOS devices". Access to the code will be available to developers after NDA's for the beta access have been lifted.

Epic Games will launch Zen Garden on the app store after iOS 8's public release.

Epic Games is also currently working on a new Unreal Tournament game, which is also powered by Unreal Engine 4. The game will be released for Windows, Linux, and Mac. Epic Games has not yet revealed a release date.
