Australian actor Jacob Elordi was one of the names floating around in the reports of who might be the next Superman before David Corenswet landed the role for James Gunn's Superman Legacy. But Elordi never auditioned, because he didn't want to be involved with something that was so "dark."

"Well, they asked me to read for Superman," Elordi told GQ. "That was immediately, 'No, thank you.' That's too much. That's too dark for me."

Asked generally if he would want to be in a superhero movie someday, Elordi said, "Not particularly, no." He added that his agent advised him against saying this, because of how it could potentially impact his career down the road should he ever change his mind.
