Every Big Announcement From Amazon’s September Event

Amazon’s September event has come and gone, revealing a slew of new products that customers can look forward to over the next few months. This includes the first-ever Kindle that lets you write on the screen, a new lineup of Echo devices, and a remote control that’s impossible to lose. And if you’re looking for an affordable, yet premium TV to complete your game room, you’ll want to take a closer look at the new Fire TV Omni QLED Series--which offers some impressive specs at less than $1,000.

Here’s a closer look at all the announcements from the Amazon Devices & Services event, along with details on how to preorder any products you’re interested in. All these products are bound to be popular, so be sure to reserve a unit early if you see something that catches your eye.

Kindle Scribe

$340+

The Kindle Scribe is the first-ever Kindle ereader that lets you write on the screen. Featuring a 10.2-inch, 300dpi Paperwhite display, the Scribe lets you jot down notes, lists, or random thoughts using a variety of templates such as grid paper or lined paper. As usual, the Kindle Scribe offers incredible battery life, with the device capable of running for weeks without needing a charge. You can also upgrade to a Premium Pen that features a built-in eraser and a customizable function button. The Kindle Scribe releases November 30 in 16, 32, and 64GB models.

Fire TV Cube

$140

Half smart speaker, half streaming device, the new Fire TV Cube is reportedly 20% faster than the outgoing model and supports Dolby Vision, HDR, Dolby Atmos, and 4K UHD. You can also hook up a cable box directly to the Fire TV Cube, thanks to the inclusion of an HDMI port. And if you happen to be watching content that’s low quality, the nifty Super Resolution Upscaling feature will give it a fidelity boost for your monitor.

Alexa Voice Remote Pro

$35

Aside from the usual functions you’d expect from a remote control, the Alexa Voice Remote Pro can be easily located by asking Alexa to help you find your remote. The device will then start beeping so you can pinpoint exactly which cushions it slipped between--or which room your toddler hid it in today.

New Echo Devices

$50+

Four new Echo devices made an appearance during Amazon’s livestream. This includes the Echo Dot (with or without clock), Echo Dot Kids, Echo Studio, and Echo Auto. The lineup includes a variety of features such as a temperature sensor, kid-friendly designs, improved sound quality, and unique mounting options. All of the Echo devices are new versions of existing products, but some of the features sound pretty cool.

Fire TV Omni QLED Series

$800

Amazon’s Fire TV lineup has been a popular choice for budget shoppers, and that trend looks to continue with the Omni QLED Series. This series is a bit more upscale than others in the catalog, offering Dolby Vision IQ and HDR10+ Adaptive--features missing in other Fire TVs. It's only available in 65- and 75-inch variants, but the Omni QLED Series looks to be another great addition to the Fire TV lineup.

Halo Rise Sleep Tracker

$140

Track your sleep without having to wear a smartwatch. The Halo Rise Sleep Tracker can monitor your sleep patterns from your nightstand, and it even comes with a built-in alarm and light. The unique device is fully supported by Alexa, making it an easy way to track the quality of your sleep without fiddling through menus or wearing a watch to bed.

Ring Spotlight Cam Pro

$230

Ring already has a robust lineup of smart home products, but that didn’t stop Amazon from revealing the Spotlight Cam Pro. This premium outdoor camera can be powered by batteries, solar, or wired directly to your home and will capture any nearby motion (thanks to a high-end radar detection system) and push notifications to its accompanying smartphone app.
