Every Disney Movie And TV Show Revealed At D23 Expo 2022


It's D23 time, a yearly celebration of everything coming from Disney in the near future. Friday's events covered games like the upcoming one featuring Captain America and Black Panther. However, a good chunk of Disney's Friday was showing off future movie releases from live-action to animated to remakes to Pixar. Here is everything that was announced on Friday for Disney Studios.

The evening kicked off with the highly-anticipated Hocus Pocus 2, and a brand-new trailer, the first of many film announcements that would be hitting the streaming service Disney+ along with theaters. Everything announced during the Walt Disney Studios portion of the evening was either a sequel, prequel, or remake of sorts--films already dealing with previously existing ideas.

Pixar, however, had a few new things to show off--this also includes a sequel to one of its most-beloved movies to date. Disney Animation Studios also has some original series coming to Disney+ you'll want to check out as well. Basically, Disney announced a lot of things over the course of the September 9 evening.

Let's kick things off with Walt Disney Studios. Make sure to come back on Saturday for information on Lucasfilms and Marvel.


New Hocus Pocus 2 trailer


Hocus Pocus 2 will be hitting Disney+ on September 30--just in time for spooky season. The cast didn't show up to the D23 panel, but we did get a look at a brand-new trailer to keep everyone excited until the end of the month. You can watch the new Hocus Pocus 2 trailer here.


Disenchanted


Arriving to Disney+ on November 24, Disenchanted stars Amy Adams reprising her role as Giselle, 10 years after the events of Enchanted. The first trailer arrived for the upcoming live-action musical.


Haunted Mansion


Coming to Disney+ in 2023, there was a new addition to the cast announced at the D23 panel. Jamie Lee Curtis will be joining the film as Madame Leota, the haunted mansions psychic whose lives inside a crystal ball. There was also a tease of Jared Leto playing the Hatbox Ghost, which was not confirmed as of this writing.


Peter Pan & Wendy


Coming in 2023 to Disney+, we got to check out a poster for the upcoming movie. Alexander Molony will play Peter, Ever Anderson will play Wendy, Jude Law will play Captain Hook, and Alyssa Wapanatâhk will play Tiger Lilly. It was hinted that at one time, Pan and Hook were actually friends during the panel.


Mufasa


A prequel to the 2019 "live-action" remake of The Lion King, the movie will follow Mufasa as a cub, and it will feature Seth Rogan and Billy Eichner back as Pumbaa and Timon, respectively, narrating the story. It will come out in 2024.


Snow White


The first footage was shown to those in attendance at the D23 panel. Rachel Zegler (West Side Story) will take on the role of Snow White, while Gal Gadot (Fast Five) will play the Evil Queen. "Snow White is the girl you remember but is definitely made for the modern age," Zegler said during the panel.

Footage and imagery have not been released publicly yet.


The Little Mermaid


Rob Marshall is helming the live-action remake of the Disney animated movie. We got our first teaser, which features Halle Bailey as Ariel singing "Part of Your World." You can also see Flounder, who will be voiced by Jacob Tremblay.


Elemental


Pixar's next movie will be hitting theaters on June 16, 2023, and it's called Elemental. The film is directed by Peter Sohn and is about the element of water falling in love with the element of water. Additionally, a poster was revealed for the movie as well.


Win or Lose


Pixar's original series will land on Disney+ in 2023. It starts Will Forte as Coach Dan and features stories from filmmakers Michael Yates, Carrie Hobson, and David Lally. It follows a middle school softball team about to go to the championship game. Each episode is from a different character's perspective.


Elio


A new original Pixar movie, Elio will follow an 11 year old who is the first person to make contact with aliens. Concept art was released for the movie, which you can see above.


Inside Out 2


Inside Out is back! Amy Poehler came out during the D23 panel to announce Inside Out 2. All of the emotions are returning for the sequel--along with a few new ones--and the film will take place in Riley's head, except now, she's a teenager.


Zootopia+


A new series coming to Disney+ in November, the show will feature six episodes with all-new stories, featuring characters from the original movie.


Kugali's Iwájú


A Disney+ original series arriving to the service in 2023, this animated series takes place in a futuristic version of Lagos, Nigeria, and it is a coming of age story between a young heiress and a poor boy.


Strange World


Arriving in theaters on November 23, 2022, a new trailer was revealed for the movie. As of this writing, it has not found its way online. However, you can, for now, check out the new image above, along with this other teaser trailer.
