Fallout 3 Might Have Caused The Dark Knight Rises To Be Delayed

Jonathan Nolan, the executive producer and director of Prime Video's Fallout TV series, has said he played so much Fallout 3 that it might have led to a delay in the big-budget Batman movie, The Dark Knight Rises. He co-wrote the movie with his brother Christopher Nolan.

Speaking to Eurogamer, Jonathan Nolan said he was "in the mood for a distraction" and turned to Fallout 3. "I think Chris had tasked me with writing The Dark Knight Rises and so if that movie was slightly delayed, it was probably in part because of Fallout 3," he said.

For what it's worth, it's not immediately clear if The Dark Knight Rises was indeed ever delayed. Even if a delay wasn't announced publicly, the film could have been delayed internally. Given how gripping and engrossing Bethesda's Fallout games can be, it's not surprising to learn that Nolan got sucked in and spent so much time playing Fallout 3 instead of co-writing the movie.
