Five Nights at Freddy’s Is Projected To Make A Lot Of Money At The Box Office

Universal/Blumhouse's Five Nights at Freedy's is projected to make over $50 million at the box office despite the film coming to Peacock on the same date.

According to Deadline, Five Nights will have the second-best opening this Fall, putting it right behind Taylor Swift: The Eras Tour, which earned $92.8 M at the box office. What makes this stand out even more is that releasing a film before Halloween traditionally doesn't make a lot of money. Before this, the biggest openings were 2011's Puss in Boots, earning $34 million, and 2006's Saw III, earning $36 million.

It's also worth mentioning that the film's production cost $20 million, and it's projected that the film has already made at least $11 million in presales. Even though the numbers look good for Freddy, it'll be viewable on Peacock for those with a paid subscription. The Deadline report mentions that a similar thing happened with Halloween Ends, which was originally projected to be over $50 million but only earned $40 million during the opening. However, this didn't stop the film from setting a new record weekend viewership for Peacock.
