For over 50 years, Spider-Man has been a sensational standout in the Marvel Universe, and this summer, the web-slinger swings onto the silver screen once more inĀ “Spider-Man: Homecoming”! In celebration of his memorable history, we present Spidey’s spectacular step-by-step story!

Our friendly neighborhood Spider-Man wrapped up battles with Tarantula in PETER PARKER, THE SPECTACULAR SPIDER-MAN #2 and the Kingpin in AMAZING SPIDER-MAN #164 to join with the Hulk and the weird Woodgod against a deranged Army major in MARVEL TEAM-UP #53. After defeating the man in MARVEL TEAM-UP #54, the wallcrawler blasted off against his will in a rocket to the moon where he met both Adam Warlock and the Stranger in MARVEL TEAM-UP #55.

Following a tussle with Stegron’s living dinosaur skeletons in AMAZING SPIDER-MAN #165, our hero shielded his eyes against the power of Lightmaster in SPECTACULAR SPIDER-MAN #3, and then warded off a new Spider-Slayer and the Lizard in AMAZING SPIDER-MAN #166, as well as a new opponent called the Will-o-the-Wisp in AMAZING SPIDER-MAN #167 and AMAZING SPIDER-MAN #168.

Electro and the Blizzard attempted a hostile takeover of the Daily Bugle in MARVEL TEAM-UP #56, but when the Vulture challenged Spidey to a duel in SPECTACULAR SPIDER-MAN #4, the young champion made things cold for the high-flying villain in SPECTACULAR SPIDER-MAN #5. Later, the Black Widow aided the webslinger in taking down the Silver Samurai in MARVEL TEAM-UP #57, and J. Jonah Jameson threatened Peter Parker about his secret identity in AMAZING SPIDER-MAN #169. It took a clash with the mind-bending Dr. Faustus in AMAZING SPIDER-MAN #170 to finally clear poor Peter’s head.

Spider-Man remembered a past battle with Morbius the Living Vampire in SPECTACULAR SPIDER-MAN #6, then raced after the bloodsucker in the present in SPECTACULAR SPIDER-MAN #7. He discovered an entity know as the Empathoid invested Morbius in SPECTACULAR SPIDER-MAN #8, and experienced the same intrusion himself, albeit temporarily. For a change of pace, Spidey followed that up with a side trip to help Ghost Rider trap the Trapster in MARVEL TEAM-UP #58.

In NOVA #12, the Human Rocket accepted the wallcrawler’s input on the murder of his uncle, a case which they solved together in AMAZING SPIDER-MAN #171. The dreaded Equinox made things hot and cold for Spidey and Yellowjacket in MARVEL TEAM-UP #59, prompting the Wasp to fly in for the save in MARVEL TEAM-UP #60. Protests on Peter’s college campus in SPECTACULAR SPIDER-MAN #9 opened up a mystery involving the White Tiger, one that expanded in SPECTACULAR SPIDER-MAN #10.
