Get Free Forza Horizon 2 Cars for Playing Forza Games

Veterans of the Forza series will be able to get their hands on some free cars when they pick up Forza Horizon 2, provided they've reached certain milestones.

The Forza Rewards website launched last year assigns you a tier based on your experience with past games: Forza 2, 3, 4, 5, and Horizon. (Sadly, progress from the original Forza is not counted, no doubt because it's the one I played most.) This experience covers everything from unlocking achievements to the number of miles you've drive to the car collection you've amassed to the DLC you've purchased.

Provided you've made it to at least Tier 2, you'll be rewarded with one or more cars, as follows:

  • Tier Level 2: 2011 BMW 1 Series M Coupe
  • Tier Level 3: 2013 Viper GTS
  • Tier Level 4: 2015 Lamborghini Huracán LP 610-4
  • Tier Level 5: 2014 Local Motors Rally Fighter
  • Tier Level 6: 2013 McLaren P1

Should you have made it to a tier above 2, you'll receive the car at that tier and any previous tiers. You'll automatically receive these cars the first time you boot up Horizon 2, which launches on September 30.

You can check what tier you've reached on the Forza Rewards website, as well as get a rundown on what you've accomplished and what you can do to move up through the ranks. If you haven't already done so, you can also redeem points you may have earned for in-game rewards like credits in Forza 4, 5, or Horizon.

Along with today's free cars announcement, Microsoft released the gorgeous launch trailer you see above. You'll be able to try the game for yourself next week, when a demo is released on September 16. In the meantime, watch the video below for our thoughts on the time we've spent with the game so far.
