GreenLight 1:18 Daytona 500 Pace Cars Release

DAYTONA 500 Pace Cars Set the Pace for 1:18

Two pace cars from Two of the most eventful, historic years in NASCAR history

Indianapolis, IN (February 1, 2012) Coming to the table with two new licenses, GreenLight is offering it’s first set of 1:18 DAYTONA 500 pace cars. GreenLight teamed up with NASCAR and the Daytona International Speedway to bring you two incredibly detailed pace cars from two very important years in NASCAR and DAYTONA 500 history.

The 1979 DAYTONA 500 was the second race of the season and little did they know, this particular race would end up becoming considered the most important race in stock car history. The crash and subsequent fight between the two leaders, Cale Yarborough and Donnie Allison, along with Donnie’s brother Bobby gave old and new fans something to talk about the next day. Looking back, this race is what brought national publicity to NASCAR and stock car racing.

1981 was also a momentous year. Richard Petty, after a gutsy call bypassing a tire change for only a splash of fuel with 24 laps to go, became the first driver to win the DAYTONA 500 in three different decades. Don’t miss out on this historic period in NASCAR history.  1,500 of each car divided by 40 million die-hard NASCAR fans means this is going to be a very special, sought-after collectible for years to come!
