ITHACON 47 Returns April 27th & 28th

Bringing back the Pop Culture celebration on Ithaca College campus

Preparations for this year’s ITHACON comic convention are underway! The event will be held in Emerson Suites, at Ithaca College Saturday, April 27th and Sunday April 28th. This convention highlights comics, cosplay, gaming, anime, manga, and pop culture.

ITHACON is the nation’s second longest running comic convention, now in its 47th year. Presented by the Comic Book Club of Ithaca, ITHACON creates a space for all fans (avid, casual, or new) to connect with pop culture live, in-person, and close to home.

The event is run by the Ithaca College students enrolled in Promoting and Managing ITHACON. This course, offered by the college’s School of Business and led by Professor Ed Catto, brings together students from widely differing disciplines to take on a project unlike any other. Putting on ITHACON is a superhuman effort —teams of students spend the semester organizing all aspects of the event, from poster design, and guest coordination, to floor planning, and social media.

ITHACON welcomes fans of all ages to find their favorite creators’ booths, attend panels where comic industry guests discuss latest trends, and partake in the cosplay runway tradition to celebrate the community’s costumes. Local vendors will be in attendance to offer food and refreshments.

Ticket information, registration, and special guest announcements for ITHACON will be announced in the coming weeks. Please visit www.ithacon.org for the latest information.
