Kraven The Hunter And New Karate Kid Movie Delayed

The wait just got a bit longer for Kraven The Hunter to chase his prey. Sony has pushed back the standalone Spider-Man villain film to December 13, as previously it was set to debut over Labor Day weekend on August 30.

Deadline reports that Kraven is actually backfilling a holiday spot vacated by the next Karate Kid film. The sixth movie in the martial arts franchise will star Ralph Macchio and Jackie Chan and is now set to premiere May 30, 2025. It's noted this new date may work out better because it comes after the final season of Netflix's Cobra Kai as well as sees a ton of children out of school for summer blockbuster season.

Meanwhile, Kraven will offer an R-rated action flick before Christmas this year. The Spider-Man villain origin story follows in the footsteps of Venom and Morbius. It will see Aaron Taylor-Johnson tackling the titular role, who opened up about superhero fatigue last year. The actor has previously appeared in comic-book films Kick-Ass and Avengers: Age of Ultron.
